We’ve been in our Eichler for a few years now and I’m finally ready to tackle some electrical updates. The house still has the original panel and a mix of two-prong and three-prong outlets, and I want to add a few circuits for a home office and maybe an EV charger down the line. The problem is I’ve heard Eichlers can be tricky because of the radiant heat system and the way the wiring is run through the slab or the ceiling. I don’t want someone who’s going to mess up the house because they don’t understand the construction. I’m looking for electrical services for Eichler homes in Palo Alto specifically, someone who’s worked on these before and knows the quirks. Has anyone here hired someone they’d recommend? How did you vet them? I’m also curious if you had to upgrade the panel or if there are workarounds. Any advice would be great because I’m nervous about letting just anyone start cutting into things.
