Our condo bathroom has a sliding glass

Hey everyone. Our condo bathroom has a sliding glass shower door on a bottom track that leaks onto the floor, sticks halfway, and has a rubber seal that has gone hard and yellow. The building has strict rules about work hours and requires the contractor to be insured, which rules out the handyman option. I would like to replace it with something frameless. Is that a straight swap or does removing the old track cause problems with the tile underneath? The bathroom is small and the door currently swings into almost nothing.

It is usually a straight swap, but expect the old track to leave adhesive and sometimes a few chipped tile edges once it comes up, which a decent installer will clean up and seal. Ask about that before the day so it is not a surprise. Frameless will need the walls checked for plumb, and if the tile is badly out you may need a wall profile rather than glass directly to the surface. We replaced ours with glass shower doors in NYC from Glass Factory and they handled the building requirements and the insurance paperwork without me chasing it. In a small bathroom, a fixed panel with a short swing door often beats a full door on space.
