I’ve got a 2018 Wrangler that’s been developing a pretty noticeable whine from the rear end, especially when I’m cruising at highway speeds. It gets louder the faster I go, which I know is a classic sign that the differential or pinion bearing could be on its way out. I’ve already had the fluid checked and topped up, but the noise hasn’t gone away, so I’m guessing it’s something more serious like a worn bearing or gear wear. I’m based in Khalifa City and I’d really prefer to find a workshop nearby rather than driving all the way into Musaffah or further, especially because I’m not entirely sure how much longer it’s safe to drive. I’ve heard that if the gears aren’t set up properly after a diff service, you can end up with even more noise or premature failure, so I want to make sure whoever does the work knows what they’re doing. A mate mentioned a place that offers Top Jeep Differential Service in Khalifa City, and he said they have experience with the Dana axles and use proper measuring tools, which is exactly what I’m looking for. Has anyone here had a rear diff rebuild or bearing replacement done in Khalifa City and been happy with the result? I’m hoping it’s just a bearing rather than the whole ring and pinion, but I want to be prepared for whatever they find. Cheers for any advice.
