Budget reality check. We’ve got a number in mind for a kitchen and I have a nagging feeling it’s based on watching too much television. I don’t want to waste anyone’s time getting quotes for something that isn’t achievable. Without asking anyone to price a job sight unseen, what should I understand about how kitchen budgets actually break down so I can calibrate my expectations before I start calling people? We’re a family of four in a house from the eighties, fairly standard size kitchen, nothing enormous, so I’m looking for a realistic frame rather than a magazine version of the answer.
